Dr SK Mak is a Urologist with special interest in Andrology. He is Consultant in Urology at Union Hospital and Union Reproductive Medial Centre in Hong Kong.
He was trained in Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery, Cornell Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2007 after obtaining fellowship in Urology.
In 2010, Dr Mak was trained in Andrology in Department of Urology, University of California, San Francisco under preceptorship of Prof. Tom Lue.
In 2014, Dr Mak was awarded Hong Kong Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship for overseas training in Reconstructive Urology. He went to Sheffield Teaching Hospital under supervision of Prof. Chris Chapple and Belgrade under supervision of Dr Rados Djinovic.
He was awarded with Best Scientific Paper at RCSEd/CSHK Conjoint Scientific Congress 1013 Oct 2006 and Quincentenary Celebrations of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This paper reported a minimally invasive surgical technical for treatment of upper tract urothelial carcinoma. His team was awarded Best Scientific Paper (Travelling Scholarship to WCE2009) at Hong Kong Society of Endourology Annual Scientific Meeting 2009. He reported the use of High power Greenlight laser for treatment of BPH in bleeding tendency patients. In 2013, he received Best Scientific Paper Award at Hong Kong Urological Association Annual Scientific Meeting.
Dr Mak is the founding president of Hong Kong Andrology and Men’s Health Society. Past President of Hong Kong Public Doctors’ Association. Council member of Asian Pacific Society of Sexual Medicine and Asian Society of Men’s Health and Ageing.
