APSSM Scholarships to School of Sexual Medicine

It's my great pleasure to announce the 19th biennial meeting of APSSM in Busan, Korea. Historically, it's the third time of APSSM Meeting held in Korea since the 2nd meeting of APSIR at Seoul in 1989 and the 11th meeting of APSSM at Jeju island in 2007, Korea.

Traditionally, APSSM meeting was held biannually. This meeting was decided in last 17th biennial Meeting at Melburn, 2019. For last 3 years, The COVID-19 outbreak has changed the planned academic activities and schedules of APSSM. Instead of regular 2021 APSSM meeting, LOC of Taiwan hold complementary half day meeting in 2021 and 2022 APSSM & TAASM & GCASMF regular meeting in hybrid. I regret that I could not join the Taiwan meetings.

The venue of 2023 APSSM meeting, BPEX, Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center, is newly reconstructed international ferry terminal across Busan railroad station, at old town of Busan. You can see Youngdo Island, Busan tower, Namhang Bridge, Cable car at Songdo beach. In Apr 1st, the volunteer can experience Korean Temple Spirit & Temple Stay in Beomeosa Temple (Built in AD 678), a Korean National Treasure, Busan.

Eligibility

Applicants must be APSSM full members in good standing, before the deadline (not a member yet? Apply here);

Applicants should have submitted an abstract for the meeting. This will be verified before the reimbursement, but no proof that a poster or talk is accepted is necessary at the application stage;

A completed (online) application form must be submitted before August 15, 2023.

People who received an APSSM travel stipend in the last five years are not eligible;

Applications can be submitted by members at various stages of their professional career (e.g., Masters and PhD students, postdocs, and lecturers), but applications from those working in lower-income countries and/or who are experiencing financial hardship will be given priority;

A completed (online) application form should be submitted including a resume and a short explanation of the need for the travel stipend;

People applying for a travel stipend are not permitted to receive additional travel funding support from a third party, e.g. from their institution, third-party funding or other grants;

A written proof* of professional degree is required (* Written proof: a letter from your organization signed by the chairman of the department where you are employed stating your professional degree.)

Requirements when receiving the Travel Stipend:

Include the APSSM logo in your poster or presentation and mention the APSSM travel stipend in the acknowledgements;

Send in a completed claim form with the original tickets and receipts attached to reimburse you on your personal account;

Send us a picture of you in front of your poster at the meeting or a picture of you presenting your research and if possible, also actively tweet during the conference using the hashtag of the Joint APSSM World Meeting on Sexual Medicine 2023, #WMSM23.
